Happy New Year to Everyone Committed to Abolishing Abortion in Connecticut!
Dear Connecticut Abolitionists,
As we step into this new year, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering commitment to the fight to abolish abortion in Connecticut. Your faithfulness and determination reflect the power of God working through His people, and it is a privilege to stand alongside you in this battle for truth and justice.
There are three key points I’d like to emphasize as we begin 2025:
1. Abortion Must Be Abolished
Our ultimate goal remains clear: the total and immediate abolition of abortion. This will not come through human efforts alone but through God’s power, whether by a sweeping biblical revival or through persistent calls to accountability in churches, among Christians, pastors, politicians, and citizens.
The Bible assures us, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58). Let this verse encourage us as we sow seeds of truth, trusting God to bring the harvest.
The situation in Connecticut is dire:
Over 75% of abortions are taxpayer-funded.
More than 64% involve chemical abortions, a number likely underestimated due to underreporting.
These sobering realities remind us of the urgency of our mission. Every moment counts, and we must press forward with the conviction that the lives of innocent children are at stake.
2. Two Major Threats
Complacency and Passivity
It is easy to feel overwhelmed by the magnitude of the battle and believe that abortion cannot be abolished. Yet, we are doing the hard, foundational work that others shy away from. We are not merely tilling hard soil; we are cutting down forests of sin, uprooting deeply entrenched lies, and preparing the ground for a great harvest.
God has given us this task, and we must remain steadfast. As Galatians 6:9 reminds us, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Division
Satan despises this work and will try to divide and conquer us. Sadly, some have already been pulled away from the Connecticut Foundation to Abolish Abortion due to political reasons, personal offenses, or other distractions. Division weakens our efforts and renders us less effective in this fight.
We must stand firm, united by our faith in Jesus Christ, our adherence to Scripture, and our shared conviction that abortion is a grave sin that must be abolished. Let us remember the words of Psalm 133:1: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
Even when disagreements arise, let us focus on our shared mission. Unity in essentials will always outweigh the differences that threaten to divide us.
3. Deepening Our Walk with God
Our strength for this mission comes from our personal relationship with God. Each of us must commit to a life grounded in prayer, meditation, and Scripture. Only through His Word and Spirit can we find the courage, wisdom, and endurance to face the challenges ahead.
As Ephesians 6:10-11 exhorts us: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
Looking Ahead in 2025
This year, let us resolve to stay faithful and focused. Whether you are preaching on the streets, engaging with representatives, supporting others through prayer, or simply living out the gospel in your daily life, know that your efforts are not in vain. Together, we are the instruments of God’s justice and mercy.
Thank you for your dedication to this critical mission. Let us press forward in the strength of the Lord, boldly proclaiming the gospel and demanding justice for the preborn.
“So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another” (Romans 12:5).
In Christ,
