Wake Up, Church of Connecticut!

I have been a Christian for over 50 years—not that I have lived a perfect life, but Jesus Christ has lived the perfect life, and I am in Him. Right from the start of my faith, around the age of 12, I began reading Christian thinkers such as C.S. Lewis, Francis Schaeffer, and Os Guinness. I sought to understand and defend biblical truth, studying apologetics and creation science with Dr. Duane Gish. As a philosophy major, I debated and defended Christianity in academic settings. Later, I attended Asbury Theological Seminary and pastored churches across various denominations.

Even in the darkest moments of my life, I have never wavered in my belief in Jesus Christ. I have studied the Scriptures deeply, including in the original languages, and have even read the entire Bible in Spanish. Over the past decade, I have immersed myself in presuppositional apologetics, learning from Dr. Cornelius Van Til and Dr. Greg Bahnsen. In the last two years, I have listened to thousands of hours of sermons by the greatest expositional preacher I have ever encountered—Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones.

Then, about three years ago, I took my faith to the streets. I began street preaching, publicly proclaiming the gospel. Not long after, I started preaching against abortion and calling for its abolition here in Connecticut.

I do not say any of this to boast—because any good in my life is solely due to the grace of God—but to make one thing clear: When I speak on biblical Christianity, I know what I am talking about. My position is not based on emotion or opinion but on the authority of Scripture.

Dismissed Because of My Imperfections

Some people dismiss me because of struggles or inconsistencies in my life. I have faced loss, failure, and hardship, and I do not claim to be perfect. Yet, I know that God has used every wound, failure, and moment of suffering to refine me.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.”
2 Corinthians 12:9

I follow Jesus Christ, who is perfect, and He has commanded me to do what I am called to do: to preach the gospel, proclaim truth, and call the Church to obedience. If you want to dismiss me, then do so. If you want to criticize my past, then do so. But remember this:

God does not call the perfect—He calls the obedient.

A Crisis in the Church

I say this because I firmly believe that Connecticut is on the brink of judgment, and the Church is asleep.

God will not tolerate our indifference and passivity. The truth is this: Christians, pastors, and churches in Connecticut are apathetic when it comes to publicly preaching the gospel and standing against the evil of abortion.

To my critics—those who have had the courage to speak to me directly, which I respect, and those who whisper behind my back—you do not understand the urgency of abolishing abortion or the failure of the Church.

So, I will say it again:

Abortion exists in Connecticut because of the passivity of Christians, pastors, and churches.
Until the Church wakes up and stands up, abortion will not be abolished.

Meanwhile, yes, your churches may grow, your bank accounts may increase, and your reputation may remain intact. But hear the words of the Lord:

“When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you;
Even though you make many prayers, I will not listen;
Your hands are full of blood.”

Isaiah 1:15

As Francis Schaeffer once said:

“Every abortion clinic should have a sign in front of it that says, ‘Open by permission of the church.’”

God detests our worship when innocent blood is being shed under our watch. We cannot lift our hands in praise while the blood of babies stains them. Until Christians in Connecticut repent of our apathy, God’s judgment will remain on us—not always in destruction, but sometimes in deception.

Judgment Comes in Many Forms

Judgment does not always come as war, famine, or disaster. Sometimes, it comes as **prosperity—**a prosperity that lulls people into complacency and blinds them to their spiritual ruin.

“Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.”
Revelation 3:17

How many churches in Connecticut are filled with people who assume they are spiritually healthy, yet God sees them as wretched?

How many pastors stand in pulpits, speaking comforting words, while never warning their flocks about the wrath of God?

How many Christians fill pews each Sunday but never take a stand for righteousness in the public square?

“Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter.
If you say, ‘Behold, we did not know this,’ does not He who weighs the heart perceive it?
Does not He who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will He not repay man according to his work?”

Proverbs 24:11-12

We cannot pretend we do not know. We do know. And God will judge accordingly.

So Criticize Me All You Want

I will not shut up.
I will not be silent.
I will not stop calling the Church of Connecticut to repentance.

To every pastor who refuses to speak up—repent.
To every Christian who remains indifferent—repent.
To every church that prioritizes comfort over righteousness—repent.

“Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.”
Ephesians 5:14

Wake up, Church of Connecticut. The blood is on our hands.
